About us
Over twenty years ago, living near Annapolis, Maryland, with egg-laying chickens in our suburban backyard, dairy goats on a 4-H leader's farm several miles away, and a dressage horse on yet another farm, we realized we needed our own farm. That began our multi-year quest to find land in our area that could support our goals and fit our budget. We spent a lot of time researching, working with the USDA office, and visiting and workshopping with Joel Salatin at Polyface Farm in Virginia to determine what would work for us. We have experimented along the way to determine what works best for our management style, as well as providing a healthy and humane environment for the animals we raise.
Our core values
At Running Springs Farm, we treat our animals with respect and care for them as the stewards God has called us to be. We work hard to have facilities and nourishment for the animals that allow them to live comfortable lives. We focus on sustainable production using breeds that we can produce generations of offspring. We will bring in new stock as required to eliminate the harmful effects of in-breeding which breeding and hatching more animals.
